Casey focuses on estate and business succession planning, as well as estate administration. He has experience with all aspects of estate planning, including dynasty trusts, limited liability companies (LLCs), sales to defective grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs), qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), charitable lead annuity trusts (CLATs), charitable remainder trusts (CRTs), and others. 

Since joining the firm in 2000, Casey has authored the Washington State Estate Tax and Federal Gift Tax sections of the Washington Lawyers Practice Manual, King County Bar Association, 1986 ed. (Vol. 4, Ch. XI, Part X (2006)), and has served as an adjunct professor for the Seattle University School of Law, teaching a course on drafting estate planning documents.  Prior to joining the firm, Casey graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law. While in law school he was a member of the Washington Law Review and worked in the school’s Affordable Housing Development Clinic. 

Outside of work, Casey enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and losing golf balls on the golf course.
